Drake made a dramatic comeback by releasing not just his long-awaited album Iceman, but two additional surprise projects — Maid of Honour and Habibti — giving fans a staggering 43 new songs in one night.
The rapper had teased Iceman for months, but kept the other two albums under wraps until the closing moments of his latest livestream. During the broadcast, Drake revealed three hard drives before messages on-screen unveiled the surprise titles. All three records arrived simultaneously at midnight, marking his first major solo releases since 2023’s For All the Dogs and his widely-publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar.
Iceman leads the trilogy with 18 tracks, including “What Did I Miss?” and appearances from 21 Savage, Future and rising artist Molly Santana. The album also features production from longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib.
Maid of Honour contains 14 songs and collaborations with Sexyy Red, Popcaan, Central Cee and others; while Habibti delivers 11 tracks featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, Loe Shimmy and another appearance from Sexyy Red. Drake also premiered visual companions for several songs, including “Plot Twist,” “National Treasures” and “Burning Bridges,” with cameo appearances from figures such as Shane Gillis and DJ Akademiks.
The albums also arrive after Drake’s public clash with Kendrick Lamar, whose diss track “Not Like Us” became a cultural phenomenon and won multiple Grammy Awards. Several tracks across the new releases appear to address the aftermath of that rivalry and Drake’s mindset during the fallout.
The heavily-promoted rollout for Iceman became one of Drake’s most elaborate campaigns yet. Earlier this year, a giant ice installation appeared in downtown Toronto before being removed by city officials over safety concerns. Before it disappeared, a streamer reportedly discovered an “Iceman” folder hidden inside that revealed the May 15 release date.
