The Rolling Stones shared on social media that they have been forced to cancel their concert on Monday at Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands, due to frontman Mick Jagger testing positive for COVID-19. The Rolling Stones are currently on their Sixty anniversary tour.
The Rolling Stones said the 78-year-old Jagger experienced symptoms of COVID-19 upon his arrival to the stadium and tested positive for the virus. The post on Instagram read: "The Rolling Stones have been forced to call off tonight’s concert in Amsterdam at the Johan Cruijff Arena, following Mick Jagger testing positive after experiencing symptoms of COVID upon arrival at the stadium. The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority. The show will be rescheduled for a later date. Tickets for tonight’s show will be honored for the rescheduled date. Standby for details."
The band are next scheduled to perform June 17 at Wankdorf Stadium in Bern, Switzerland; no word yet on if that date will need to be postponed, as well.
