YG is starting the year with fresh music, unveiling his new single “State of Emergency,” which arrives alongside a music video and signals the beginning of his next album cycle.

The track is the first release of the year for the multi-platinum rapper, with the song reflecting the gritty confidence and street-focused storytelling that helped establish YG as a leading figure in modern West Coast hip-hop.

“State of Emergency” will serve as the lead single from YG’s forthcoming album, The Gentleman’s Club. The project has been hinted at by the Compton native for months and is now reportedly complete and ready for release.
