Annette Bening has joined the cast of the Yellowstone 'Beth and Rip' spinoff series titled 'The Dutton Ranch' for Paramount+, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan. Chad Feehan ('Ray Donovan,' 'Banshee') has been named showrunner.

Bening will star opposite Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Finn Little, who will reprise their original roles. The show is expected to remain on the same present-day timeline as the original series. Bening will play Beulah Jackson, the "powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas."

Yellowstone followed the Dutton family, a powerful Montana ranching family that controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Beth (Reilly) is John Dutton III’s (Kevin Costner) daughter, a former head of acquisitions at the Schwartz & Meyer financial firm.  Jaded ranch foreman Rip (Houser), who first came to John Dutton as a young boy on the run after killing his stepfather to protect his mother, learned how to be a cowboy from John, who treated him like a son. Yellowstone ended with Beth, Rip and their adopted son Carter (Finn Little) setting off to start their own smaller ranch in search of a peaceful life.

The Yellowstone Universe also includes prequel series '1883' and '1923,' both of which have concluded their runs. Two other upcoming offshoots include: 'The Madison' for Paramount+, led by Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, and 'Y: Marshals' for CBS, led by Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. Additional universe entries that were previously announced as being in development include '1944' and '6666'.

Bening will next be seen in the Apple TV+ limited series Lucky opposite Anya Taylor-Joy.
