The Seattle Mariners defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Sunday evening at Rogers Centre.

Seattle's Cal Raleigh launched a home run in the sixth inning to tie the game 1-1, with Jorge Polanco hitting a pair of run-scoring singles to take the 3-1 lead. Mariners' starting pitcher Bryce Miller allowed just one leadoff home run (to George Springer on his first pitch of the game), but did not allow another run across six innings. Seattle's bullpen then took over, with three scoreless innings from Gabe Speier, Matt Brash and closer Andrés Muñoz to close out the game and clinch the win.

The Blue Jays and Mariners will meet for Game 2 of the ALCS on Monday in Toronto.
