CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers' wide receiver Chris Godwin has agreed to a three-year, $66 million deal with $44 million guaranteed. Godwin's contract can reach a maximum of $72 million.
Sources told NFL Network about the agreement Monday; Godwin, 29, was set to hit free agency this off-season. The eight-year veteran, who joined the Bucs in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has spent his entire eight-year career in Tampa Bay -- winning a Super Bowl in 2020.
Godwin, a 2019 Pro Bowl selection, totaled 7,266 yards and 39 scores on 579 catches over his first 111 appearances in the league (ranking second in franchise history). He had 86 catches for a career-best 1,333 yards and nine scores in 2019, and caught a career-best 104 passes in 2022. Over seven starts last season, Godwin totaled 50 catches for 576 yards and five scores (he missed the final 10 games of the season with an ankle injury).
