The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a conditional draft pick. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport: 🚨 🚨 🚨 "The #Raiders are completing a trade of star WR Davante Adams to the #Jets, sources say. Back with his good friend, Aaron Rodgers. As Las Vegas moves on."
Adams has missed the last three games with the Raiders due to a hamstring injury, and must pass a physical to complete the trade. Multiple reports state that he had requested a trade at the beginning of this month.
The Jets will send the Raiders a conditional third-round pick, which can become a second-round selection if certain conditions are met. Â The move also reunites Adams, 31, with Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who played together on the Green Bay Packers from 2014-2021. In eight seasons together on the Packers, Rodgers and Adams connected 622 times for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns, and Rodgers won three of his four MVPs with Adams.
Adams, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, was the second-round pick of Green Bay in 2014. He spent nine seasons with the Packers before he was traded to the Raiders in March 2022. Â The WR caught 103 passes for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns last season; in 153 career games, and has 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown through three games so far this season before being injured. Â In 2020, Adams led all receivers with 18 touchdowns, and the next year he led the league in receptions and receiving yards.
The Jets will face the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) at 8:20 p.m. EDT Sunday in Pittsburgh.
