The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians with a score of 5-2 in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees' Carlos Rodón earned his first postseason win, allowing just three hits with 9 strikeouts and no walks in six innings. Juan Soto hit a solo HR during the team's three-run third inning (his first of the postseason) and Giancarlo Stanton hit his 13th career postseason HR to help New York take an early 1-0 ALCS series lead.
Game 2 between the Yankees and Guardians will take place at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.
