Miranda Lambert has been chosen to receive the Country Icon Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, with NBC announcing in a press release that Lambert, 40, will receive the award at this year's ceremony.
Lambert follows the late Toby Keith as the recipient of the Country Icon Award; Keith was awarded the honor during last year’s inaugural ceremony. Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a statement: “A tour de force in country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert’s groundbreaking albums continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world. We’re so excited to celebrate her career, fierce individualism and innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award.”
The People’s Choice Country Awards recognizes the biggest and best country music, chosen entirely by the fans. Beyoncé leads this year's nominees with 12 nominations, followed by Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves with 11 and 10 nominations, respectively.
The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards will be hosted by Shania Twain and air live on Thursday, September 26th at 8 pm ET/PT across NBC and Peacock from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
