The Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 to win Game 7 and advance to the Western Conference Final for the second time in four seasons.
The Stars' Roope Hintz scored late in the second period to give the Stars a 1-0 lead at the 15:59 mark. The goal was Hintz's ninth goal of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and his fourth of the series. Hintz also registered four goals and two assists over the series' final four games. Rookie forward Wyatt Johnston scored to gie the Stars a 2-0 lead at the 12:48 mark of the second period; it was the 20-year-old Johnson's fourth goal of the postseason. Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger turned aside all 21 of the 22 shots he faced in Game 7. The Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand added a goal at the 19:42 mark of the third period, and goalie Philipp Grubauer recorded 26 saves.
The Stars will face off against the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Final. Game 1 is set for Friday, May 19th at 8:30 pm in Las Vegas.
