Almost two years after Game of Thrones ended, its prequel series -- House of the Dragon -- is officially in the works at HBO Max. A brief teaser trailer was released, showing close-ups of new characters and sword fighting scenes in the one-minute clip. Matt Smith, who portrays Prince Daemon Targaryen, says in the clip's narration: "Gods, kings, fire and blood. Dreams didn't make us kings — dragons did."
House of the Dragon centers around the House Targaryen during a civil war set 200 years before GoT premieres; its plot is derived from George R.R. Martin's novel 'Fire & Blood.' The cast list includes Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, and Fabien Frankel, in addition to Matt Smith.
