Swizz Beatz shared an Instagram post announcing “Season 2” of the popular Instagram Live series Verzuz. He wrote in the caption, “Ohhh ohhhhh who you want to see in season 2. @verzuztv stay tuned all the way!”
Timbaland, who co-founded the platform with Swizz, followed up with a tweet on Wednesday, October 14, and indicated a big announcement is on the way. “Going to another level,” he wrote. “@verzuzonline line up coming soon !!!! @THEREALSWIZZZ let’s gooo.”
Verzuz was created earlier this year while the world was under quarantine. Early matchups included RZA and DJ Premier, Teddy Riley and Babyface and Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. As of July, episodes were simulcast live on Apple Music and Beats 1 simultaneously as the Verzuz Instagram Live channel. They’re also exclusively available via Apple Music on-demand following the live stream. Apple Music is also working alongside Swizz and Timbo to produce new episodes of Verzuz to "continue giving fans a truly premium, high quality shared experience."
