Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd started rumors of a split between him and Swae Lee on Saturday morning (January 12) when he appeared to suggest the duo had split up. Slim fired off several since-deleted tweets alluding to him going solo.
Said Jxmmi on Twitter: “Y’all still got ya mans swae y’all a be skraight,” he said. “Y’all won it’s a wrap. Not SremmLife. I’m not Rae Sremmurd. I’m slim jxmmi and ima sink or swim by myself.”
In addition, Slim posted on his Instagram, teasing an impending solo effort and killed off his moniker with an RIP post. He added in the caption: “2nd project Dropping 2k19."
Slim’s posts follow the duo’s performance on Friday night, January 11) at the FOMO Festival in Sydney, Australia.
For his part, Swae Lee has not commented on any impending split since Slim posted. He did, however, tweet on January 6: “I’m never leaving SremmLife. stop the speculation.”
