Monday night’s Chiefs-Rams game is being moved from Mexico City to Los Angeles because of field conditions, the league announced Tuesday. After rumors surfaced on Tuesday that discussions about moving the game were taking place, it was reported that a "number" of players were considering not playing in the game if it remained slated for Mexico City due to concerns about injuries. The Chiefs and Rams were slated to play in Mexico City's Estadio Azteca, but according to ESPN, the field was "a mess" and might not be safe for players. As part of the NFL's international series, the home team must keep the date open at its stadium in case of an emergency. Because of that, the Rams have kept the L.A. Coliseum available. Both teams are at 9–1, so the game is widely anticipated. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
