NBC announced that Ice Spice will be the first musical guest, while former cast member Pete Davidson will serve as host of the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live for Season 49, airing on October 14.. The long-running late night show returns following the recent Writers’ Guild of America and Screen Actors’ Guild strikes. The appearance from Ice Spice will mark her late-night TV debut.
In addition, NBC announced that Bad Bunny will serve double-duty as both the host and musical guest on the October 21st show. It will be Bad Bunny's first time hosting, but he made his debut on the show with a cameo back in 2020, and later came back as musical guest the following February.
Saturday Night Live will be bringing back the entire cast from the previous year for the upcoming 49th season, as well as just one newcomer, Chloe Troast.
