Travis Scott paused his surprise Coney Island concert on July 4th to ensure fans’ safety. The 31-year-old rapper was performing at the Coney Art Walls with Meek Mill when fans scaled a lighting truss for a better view of the show.
TMZ reported that after Scott spotted the fans dangling from the contraption, he ordered them to come down and they obliged; at which point the concert resumed.
The concert appearance marks one of the first live shows Travis has put on since his headlining set at Astroworld, where 10 people tragically passed away as a result of crowd surges. Scott is still facing several lawsuits related to the incident; he gave his first interview about the tragedy in December 2021, explaining that he hadn’t heard the audience’s cries for help while he was performing.
