“Pose” star Billy Porter confirmed over the weekend that he’s signed on to play the fairy godmother in Sony’s “Cinderella," the forthcoming adaptation of the classic fairy tale starring Camila Cabello as the titular heroine. Idina Menzel is reportedly in talks to play the wicked stepmother.
Sony’s plans for a new take on “Cinderella” first made headlines in April, when it was announced that Cabello had been hired to star. The film will be directed by Kay Cannon , and James Corden - who proposed the idea for the new adaptation - has signed on as a producer.
